"With mindfulness, it's not so much that we try to stop thoughts - although that can happen at times - but more that we try to change our relationship to them."

Mindfulness
Many people who come to see me have broad misconceptions about what “mindfulness” and meditation are all about.
I hear, “I’ve tried it, but I couldn’t stop thinking.” Or, “How do I know if I’m doing it right?”
Most of the time we carry on a running commentary about our experience and the way it should or shouldn’t be. Mindfulness helps us from getting lost in these “stories” and reactions to what we are experiencing.
Knowing how our minds work regarding thoughts and emotions is an important beginning to changing our relationship to them. The exciting new field of neuroscience explores just what is happening in the various regions of our brains as we focus our attention.
I am truly heartened to share these new findings, dispel myths, and present simple and active ways to slow down the speedy, judging mind and calm the body/mind at will.

Anxiety/Panic
Do you find yourself avoiding potential panic triggers or often thinking that the worst is bound to happen?
Feelings of dread, worry, panic, social unease and general anxiety often leave sufferers worn out or feeling hopeless.
But there is good news from the emerging field of neuroscience! Since the advent of brain imaging in research, we have learned much more about how consistent work with anxiety management techniques will calm an anxious brain.
I use effective strategies to relieve and manage symptoms, and later address the underlying issues that may be contributing to the anxiety.
